KEFALONIA
We visit the beautiful nearby island of Kefalonia. It is the largest of the seven Ionian Islands.
You are picked up in the morning at approximately 7.00am by bus from your hotel and taken to the port of Agios Nikolaos. The ferry takes about 1 ½ hours from Kefalonia to the small port Pessada. You will then arrive in Argostoli, the capital of Kefalonia, where you also have the opportunity for a coffee.
In Kefalonia we will visit the following sites: The Church of the Holy Gerasimus, and the Melissani Lake (underground lake) of which you can explore in small boats. Another highlight is the visit of Drogorati caves with a special acoustic sound, here Maria Callas here has already given concerts.
Opportunity for lunch in a cozy tavern is a must. We will also have time for a photo stop at the legendary beach of Myrthos where the movie “Captain Corelli’s Mandolin” was filmed.
At 17:30 clock brings us back to the ferry port of Agios Nikolaos, and then by bus back to your hotel.
